Occupation 24/7

October 16, 2011

Occupy Lubbock is officially occupying 19th and University Ave 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Saturday night was the first night camped out on the green space at the SW corner of the intersection. If you want to join in and help the group, you may do so at any time, and people will be there. Got a few hours after work? Occupy! Lunch break? Occupy! Overnight? Occupy!

So far the response continues to be a 10-1 respect-to-hater ratio in terms of cars driving by. We like those odds! We appreciate every honk, wave, and cheer. Tens of thousands of cars pass through this intersection every day, so our signs and enthusiasm bring incredible visibility to the movement.

This is day one of the occupation in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement. Get in on the ground floor!

Bitching is for bitches. I’m a guy, and I say that we, the 99 percent, own the American market place. That’s our HAMMER. We need to support new laws that allow rogue corporations that have defected to other countries to sell up to six percent of their production in the United States (we are six percent of the world
population). Additional ‘shelf space’ can be acquired by them for a ‘reasonable fee’…the proceeds from which are to be used to provide for U.S. citizen well-being. The second phase is to forbid the return to the United States of the manufacturing equipment that has been exported by these rogue corporations. We can make new equipment right here…and make jobs as well. Our words do not have to be empty.

Yes. Stand against immoral, opportunistic behavior. Stand against the bullies that have taken our (the 99%) lunch money. Stand against those who prey on the weak. Stand against the corrupt. Stand against injustice. For they (the 1%) will grasp at every penny to maintain their foothold as the top of the economic food chain.
